The Two Keyboard Shortcuts Everyone Should Know but No One Uses
One keeps your docs clean. The other saves your browser sanity. Both are surprisingly satisfying.
🧼 Clean Copy + Tab Mastery
Two tips to make your digital life 8% less annoying
Welcome back to another Tech Tip Twosday, where we trade frustration for function in just a few scrolls. Chip and Glitch have two easy wins this week — one for when you're copy-pasting chaos and one for when you're drowning in browser tabs.
✅ Tip 1: Paste Without the Formatting Freakout
You’re working on a doc. You paste in a quote from an email. Suddenly, it’s bold, purple, and somehow Comic Sans.
We’ve all been there.
Next time, instead of Ctrl+V, use Ctrl+Shift+V (or Cmd+Shift+V on a Mac).
Boom — plain text, no formatting junk, and your doc stays clean.
This shortcut works in:
Google Docs
Gmail
Slack
Notion
Microsoft Teams
And most modern apps that care about your sanity
✅ Tip 2: Tab Cleanup for Chaos Clickers
If you’ve got more than 10 browser tabs open right now… hi, yes, we see you.
Here’s how to feel like a keyboard ninja:
Ctrl+W (Cmd+W on Mac) closes the tab you're in
Ctrl+Shift+T (Cmd+Shift+T on Mac) brings back the last tab you closed
It’s like an undo button for the web. Super handy when you accidentally close that one tab you actually needed.
🐾 Glitch’s Corner
Chip closed 23 tabs. Glitch opened three cat treat pages in return. Nobody wins, but the keyboard is cleaner now.
That’s it for this week.
Shortcuts like these won’t change your life… but they’ll save you from five seconds of fury, and that’s worth something.
See you next Twosday. ✌️
